Product Introduction
Dimethyl Sulfoxide (English name: Dimethyl Sulfoxide, abbreviated as DMSO) is a non-proton polar solvent that is miscible with various organic and inorganic compounds, has high safety, and is widely used in various fields. DMSO is recyclable and is an environmentally friendly substance.
Product Applications
High-performance carbon fiber preparation
With super strong solubility and high safety, PPb grade sulfoxide can effectively reduce the metal ion content during the preparation of the precursor, improve phenomena such as burrs and broken fibers, and significantly enhance the performance of the precursor.
Stripping agent, cleaning agent
Due to its strong solubility and permeability, it is widely used as a stripping agent and cleaning agent in various fields.
Organic synthesis solvent
Widely used as a reaction medium or raw material for pharmaceuticals, pesticides, etc.
Other UsesExtraction solvent, dye pigment dissolving agent, antifreeze, paint remover, etc.,
Uses of the intermediate product dimethyl sulfide
The intermediate raw material dimethyl sulfide (English name: Dimethyl Sulfide, abbreviated as DMS) is a unique product of our company, used as raw materials and odorants in various fields such as pharmaceuticals and pesticides.
DMSO Description
1. The chemical structure of DMSO is shown above. It is a non-proton polar solvent, colorless and transparent, with strong hygroscopicity.
2. DMSO has strong solubility for various inorganic and organic compounds and permeability to cell tissues, and as a reagent, it has attracted attention due to its unique properties, being widely used in various fields.
3. DMSO has a high boiling point (189℃) and a high flash point (95℃). It is also low in toxicity, with stable thermal and chemical properties, making it easy to use.
4. DMSO can be completely mixed with water, alcohol, and acetone. It can also be completely mixed with ether, benzene, chloroform, etc., but the solubility of these substances decreases when moisture is added to DMSO.
5. DMSO can be fully decomposed by microorganisms in water or soil, so it does not persist for a long time.
DMSO is widely used in various fields as follows:
• Organic synthesis solvent: pharmaceutical, pesticide synthesis solvent, food additive synthesis solvent, etc.
• Pharmaceutical, pesticide synthesis solvent, food additive synthesis solvent, etc.
• Stripping agent, cleaning agent: Due to its strong solubility and permeability, it is widely used as a stripping agent and cleaning agent in various fields.
• Electronic component cleaning agents, stripping agents, mechanical equipment cleaning agents, release agents for automotive parts, etc.
• Other uses: With super strong solubility and high safety, it is also used in fields outside the chemical industry.
• Polymer spinning solvent, stem extraction solvent, dye pigment dissolving agent, etc.

Precautions for using DMSO
1. To prevent DMSO from directly contacting the skin, please use gloves and protective masks made of rubber or polyethylene. If DMSO accidentally contaminates the skin, rinse with plenty of water. DMSO has low toxicity to humans.
2. DMSO that dissolves toxic substances has strong permeability, so please be especially careful not to contact the skin.
3. At normal pressure and room temperature, DMSO has a very low vapor pressure, and there is basically no inhalation hazard. Inhalation tests were conducted on mice under the following conditions
and the report showed no harmful toxicity.
2,900mg/m3…24 hours
2,000mg/m3…40 hours
200mg/m3……30 days (7 hours/day)
4. When the environmental temperature is below 18℃, dimethyl sulfoxide crystallizes, with a freezing point of 18℃. It can be melted using a warm room or hot water bath.
5. It is hygroscopic, so if placed in an open container, please install a moisture-proof device or blow in dry gas.
6. Suitable materials for using DMSO include SUS304, polyethylene (at room temperature), etc. For gaskets used as flange gaskets or in pumps and valves, Teflon is the most suitable material.
7. To avoid thermal decomposition, please do not use it under conditions above 130℃.
8. For inquiries regarding the storage of containers, dissolution during product formation, recycling liquid regeneration, wastewater treatment methods, etc., please feel free to consult.
